Marketing Intern

ProActive seeks to add a part time intern to the Inside Sales team who will interface with our Sales Specialists and Marketing Department and generate leads to create new business.  We are looking for energetic and outgoing students, who may want to pursue a career in IT, Sales, or Marketing, and wish to enhance their resume with applicable and valuable work experience.

Candidates will have excellent written and oral communication abilities, a hard work ethic with strong time management skills, an outgoing personality, be highly self-motivated, and a team player. This internship will run during the 2010 Spring Semester with the option to continue through summer 2010 and beyond.

The internship is for up to 20 hours per week, and flexible with your schedule during the day from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.  You will play a vital role in assisting our sales team, and have the following responsibilities:

  • Drive attendance to events and generate leads through cold calls to local, regional and national companies
  • Set up appointments for ProActive’s outside Sales Specialists focusing on IBM hardware, software and service offerings
  • Develop contact lists
  • Maintain and update data in Customer Relationship Management system
  • Assist the Sales and Marketing departments with special projects and events
  • Hourly rate of up to $10.00 an hour, based upon background and experience

Inside Sales/Business Development Representative

The Inside Sales/Business Development representative will be responsible for outbound calling into leads focused on developing new business in KS, MO, OK, NE and IA. You must be self motivated, demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, and have the tenacity to thrive making cold calls into Fortune 500 companies.

Duties:

·         Driving attendance to, and follow up after Customer Events

·         Qualifying leads generated from distributor and IBM

·         Building rapport with prospects and new business development

·         Cold calling into demand generation lists to set appointments for outside sales reps

·         Calling into existing client base to continue building rapport

·         Developing new opportunities into dormant accounts

·         Generating and closing new opportunities for inside sales and service

·         Managing information in an IBM lead and opportunity web site tracking client activity

·         Assisting Marketing Manager with Customer Events and demand generation planning

·         Focused, self motivated individual with exceptional phone skills

·         Honest, high integrity, and

·         Tenacious and inventive opening doors on the phone into Fortune 500 accounts

·         Energetic, confident, outgoing sales personality

·         Excellent communication and writing skills

·         Self Motivated initiative to follow up and track daily cold calls

·         Professional appearance and able to work in a fast-paced environment

·         Some college and/or IT background desired

·         Hard work ethic and take charge attitude a must

 

Salary is negotiable based upon qualifications. Base salary in addition to commission on hardware, software, and services opportunities turning to revenue.
